Hello Star Breacher’s one and all! Just a quick list of some info/reminders/updates as we head into a new, much more populated and globally-growing era of Star Breach gaming: 1. Many may be surprised to know that Star Breach is actually now over 3 years old (this month!) and has undergone at least a half-dozen major revisions before reaching it’s “1st Edition” existence today. This 1st Edition came out in December 2019 and now exists in 4 formats: the upcoming retail Softcover (over 400% funded on Kickstarter and going global in a few months via Slow Death Games), a signed limited edition Hardcover (sold out), and the Deluxe and Free PDFs (both available on our website: starbreach.com). If you are currently using any older versions (such as v2.3), you are missing out on some major rule changes and I would highly suggest switching over to the 1st Edition. Also, while the 1st Edition Free PDF is the exact same ruleset as the Deluxe PDF and printed books, it lacks artwork and many of the pre-written scenarios and campaign rules. 2. Since it’s official release in December, even in light of scrupulous editing among a small team of friends, there have been found a few errors, ambiguities, and discrepancies within the 1st Edition ruleset. That is a natural consequence of anything written in it’s fist edition: as a book begins to circulate among a wider audience, faithful readers find issues we miss as editors. Even now, small issues here and there are still being noted. This is normal and we are happy to keep our ruleset as up-to-date as possible. Two things we want you to know in light of this: a) nothing noted thus far impacts the core rules whatsoever and almost entirely involves minute misnomers within special rules and the Warband Anthology, and b) we are currently cataloguing these small issues and compiling an up-to-date FAQ/Errata that will be released on our website in early March, free to all for download. We will not be incorporating these edits into any of our current formats (digital or physical), as that will only make things more confusing and leave certain gamers behind who already have their copies. We will all, as a community, rely on the FAQ/Errata together for rules edits and clarifications. 3. If you’ve read this far, I reward you with some fun insights into what’s ahead! First, the softcover will begin to see fulfillment and distribution by summer, if not sooner. Slow Death Games is already hard at work behind the scenes getting stuff made and getting ready for order processing and eventual fulfillment. In the meantime, I hope you are all enjoying either the Deluxe or Free PDF. Second, I am currently writing the Co-Op/Solo missions extension of the Star Breach ruleset, and it’s gonna be awesome! I will need some play testers for the first few missions, so keep your ears to the ground! We hope to release the book in the fall/winter of this year. And then, there’s lots more to come! In the following year, I hope to write and release more rules that guide players in creating slightly larger Star Breach conflicts, utilizing vehicles, monsters, and special units. So yeah, as you can see, Star Breach is only getting started in its quest for tabletop multiverse adventures and fun. Thank you all for your support and playing my game! I LOVE seeing what you have all been creating for and doing with this ruleset. Enjoy!
